France: The Pope has
made many dedicated voyages to France including visits to Lourdes, Strasbourg
and Paris, where the 12th World Youth Day was held in 1997.
Germany:

April 30, 1987 (West Germany), June 21, 1996:
The
Pope made two dedicated visits to West Germany, before
the fall of the Berlin wall and one after where he made a historic speech at the
gate of Brandeburg, and he announced the new Synod for Europe
Austria, Sept. 10, 1983, June 23, 1988, June 19, 1998: The Pope has made three trips dedicated to visiting Italy's neighbor, Austria.
