St. Basil the Great, 329-379

    Bishop of Caesarea, a leading churchman in the 4th century. Doctor of the Church,  Father of the Church, Father of Eastern Monasticism as Benedict was to the west, Fought Arianism.

St. Gregory of Nazianzen, 300-390, Saint Gregory the Theologian

     From Arianzus, Cappadocia, Asia Minor Father of the Church and Doctor of the Church, Bishop of Constantinople, He opposed Arianism, and brought its heretical followers back to the fold... became a hermit. Noted preacher on the Trinity.
