Saints of the Day...and Events
His father was a Greek gentile, his mother Eunice was Jewish. Converted to Christianity by Saint Paul around the year 47. Partner, assistant and close friend of Paul. Missionary. Head of the Church in Ephesus. Recipient of two canonical letters from Saint Paul. Martyred for opposing the worship of Dionysius.

St. Paula of Rome, 347-404, Paulina; Pauline the Widow
Roman nobility, married to senator Toxotius. Mother of five children including Saint Eustochium and Saint Blaesilla, who became and Abbess and she built churches, a hospice, a monastery and convent in the Holy Land
Widowed at age 32 in 379; she devoted her fortune and the rest of her life to spiritual development and care for the poor.
Friend, spiritual student and supporter of Saint Jerome whom she met in 382; he later wrote her biography. She was one of the persons in his Congregation.

Bela IV of Hungary who became a Dominican and the investigation for her
canonization lists 27 miracles including
healings
and a case of awakening from death.
