St. Loise de Marillac, 1591-1660

    The sickly French who founded the "Sisters of Charity" of St. Vincent de Paul (though he preferred "Daughters" of Charity), Spiritual student of Saint Vincent de Paul, friend of St. Francis de Sales.

    At her death on March 15, 1660, the congregation had more than 40 houses in France.
