March 17
Saints of the Day... and Events

St. Patrick, 385-461, Apostle of Ireland; Maewyn Succat; Patricius; Patrizio

The slave who converted Ireland as a Bishop.

Kidnapped from the British mainland around age 16, and shipped to Ireland as a slave. Sent to the mountains as a shepherd, he spent his time in prayer... escaped and tudied in European monasteries.

Sent as Bishop by Pope Saint Celestine to evangelize England, then Ireland... in 33 years he effectively converted the Ireland, a land of Saints, and during the Dark Ages its monasteries were the great repositories of learning in Europe.

    St. Patrick resurrected 39 persons:

One chief told Patrick he will believe in the resurrection when his mother, death for 4 years would resurrect. Where is she?, asked Patrick. In the cemetery. Let's go there... they opened the tomb, Patrick place his staff over the remains and claimed, "in the name of Jesus rise up"... and she did, and the chief with all his subjects became Christians.

Do you know why there is no occultism in Ireland?

Among other things because the occultists played a trick on St. Patrick: Since he was famous for resurrecting people, one of the occultists would simulate to be death, and they called St. Patrick to resurrect him!.. ah, ah!... ther went Patrick, and they asked him to resurrect the fake. St. Patrick just said, "yes, he is death"... and he was death. Now the occukltist friends call him by real. But Patrick would not go until after 5 days. The he went, places his staff on the real death, and in the name of Jesus he resurrected... and no occultism in Irland when all Europe was plagued with witches.

Christ shield me this day:
Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every person who thinks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in the ear that hears me
