Pope Saint Celestine V, 1210-1294, Peter Celestine
Pope at 72 and abdicated in 5 months, the only Pope to do abdicate. Hermit with many miracles.

    Eleventh of twelve children, visions of Heaven as a child. Became a hermit and founded  the Holy Spirit Community of Maiella (Benedictine Celestines).

    Pope at 72, after a two years conclave during which the cardinals could not decide on a pope... he abdicated in 5 months. The only Pope to do so.

    During the remaining three years of his life became a hermit again and he worked many and great miracles. On the day after his abdication, his blessing after Mass healed a lame man.

From Barcelona, mother of 9 children, founder of the Institute of the Carmelite Sisters of Charity with the mission of caring for the sick, and teaching children. Had a great devotion to the mystery of the Holy Trinity

Born 16 April 1783 in Barcelona, Spain

Died 1854 at Vich of cholera

Canonized 12 April 1959 by Pope John XXIII
