The Bible says he is Son of Cleophas and Mary who
stood at the foot of the Cross, and who annointed Christ's body after death.
Brother of Saint
James the Lesser; nephew of Virgin
Mary and St.
Joseph; cousin of Jesus Christ, and reported to look a lot like him. May

The Brothers of Jesus
John 14: 22Then Judas
(not Judas Iscariot) said, "But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to
us and not to the world?" 23Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he
will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and
make our home with him.
Yes, Jesus told Jude, the Father and I live within a good
Christian. Any good Christian is the home of the Father and a Tabernacle, and
Temple of the holy spirit... it is mind-bogging, but it is, as Jesus told
Jude.

Actually, Jude had the same name as
Judas Iscariot. Evidently because of the disgrace of that name, it was
shortened to "Jude" in English.
His patronage of lost or impossible causes
traditionally derives from confusion by many early Christians between Jude and
Judas; not understanding the difference between the names, they never prayed
for Jude's help, and devotion to him became something of a lost cause.

St. Simon the Zealot, Apostle of Jesus:
Apostle pf Jesus, a Zealot, who preached in Egypt and
Mesopotamia, martyred swan in half
One of the 12 Apostles of Jesus. Matthew 10:3, 13:55,
Mark
3:18, 6:3,
Luke
6:15, and
Acts
1:13
Evangelized in
Egypt
and Mesopotamia. Several places claim to have been the site of his
martyrdom.
Simon is mentioned on all four lists of the
apostles. On two of them he is called "the Zealot."
The Zealots were a Jewish sect that represented an
extreme of Jewish nationalism. For them, the messianic promise of the Old
Testament meant that the Jews were to be a free and independent nation. God
alone was their king, and any payment of taxes to the Romans—the very domination
of the Romans—was a blasphemy against God. No doubt some of the Zealots were the
spiritual heirs of the Maccabees, carrying on their ideals of religion and
independence. But many were the counterparts of modern terrorists. They raided
and killed, attacking both foreigners and "collaborating" Jews. They were
chiefly responsible for the rebellion against Rome which ended in the
destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70.
- Died
martyred;
Abbyssinians claim he was crucified in Samaria; Lipsius says he was sawn in
