Only One God: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each person is fully God, but only One God
The greatest mystery of Christianity.

Trinity Sunday is the Sunday after Pentecost, 57 days after Easter Sunday of Resurrection, on June 3, 2007

The Bible reveals again and again that there is only one God, with three persons: The Father is God and fully God, the Son is God and fully God, the Holy Spirit is God and fully God… but only one God!… the Holy Spirit is a Person really distinct as such from the Father and the Son, but he is God and consubstantial with the Father and the Son, who possesses with Them one and the same Divine Essence or Nature, with distinct functions… but only one God!.

We call Him The Blessed Trinity, though the word "Trinity" is not in the Bible, but He is all along the Bible from Genesis to Revelation: He is "the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob", who represents God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Ex.3:6). In Heaven they sing day and night, without ceasing, "Holy, Holy, Holy", Holy the Father, Holy the Son, Holy the Spirit (Rev.4:8), and "glory, honor, and power", glory to the Father, honor to the Son, power to the Spirit (Rev.4:11). And Jesus told us to baptize the disciples of all nations "in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Mt.28:19).

The first mention of "God" in the Bible is in Gen.1:1, and the word translated as "God" is plural, "Elohim", indicating more than one person in the one God, and God is called Elohim in over 2,000 times in the Bible, confirming us with its plurality our faith in the doctrine of the Trinity, which, though but darkly intimated in the Old Testament, is clearly revealed in the New.

In Gen.1 God refers Himself as "us" and "our", not as "I" nor "me", when he created man, indicating also the plurality of persons in the only one God: "Let us make human beings", "in our image, after our likeness" (Gen.1:26)… and God created man with three dimensions, at the image of God Himself, with spirit, soul and body: The body is the human being, and the soul, and the spirit with all the emotions, and they are not three human beings but only one, like God!.

This is what we call the most glorious Mystery of the Blessed Trinity… a "mystery", as there are so many mysteries in the material word, including "a drop of water", with ten billion Hydrogen atoms, capable of producing ten billion Atomic Bombs!… we don't understand them, but we can use them!… we don't know how to integrate one atom, but we have learned how to disintegrate one and make an Atomic Bomb… the radio and the TV and the computer are mysteries for me, but I push the buttons and I can use them properly. The motor of a car is a mystery for me, but I know how to drive it. An airplane is also a mystery for me, but I pay the ticket and I can go from New York to London safely…

… So many mysteries in life that we use properly every day!… all the scientists of the world have been unable to make a leaf of a tree, nor a petal of a flower, nor an eye of an insect, nor a single hair of your head… they are all mysteries for humankind, but we use them!… and the same goes on with the mystery of the Trinity: We don't understand Him, God, but we know much about Him, when we contemplate his wonderful works in the universe, and as revealed by Himself in the Holy Scriptures, enough to make us glorify Him, and to live in Him in our daily lives, making us divine…

There are three clear truths about God, the Trinity, revealed in the Bible

1- There is only one God: Deut.6:4, 4:39, Is.43:10-11, 44:6,8,24, 45:5-6, 46:9, Mk.12:29, James 2:19.
    2- The Father is God; the Son is God; the Spirit is God: Jn.1:1-3, Colos.1:15-17, Acts 5:3-4, Rom.9:5, 2Cor.3:17-18, 1Cor.2:11, 2Pet.1:1,17, Tit.2:13, Heb.1:8.
3- The Father is not the Son nor the Spirit; the Son is not the Spirit: Mt.3:16-17, 12:32, 13:41-43, Jn.6:38, 7:16, 14:28, 15:26, 1Cor.15:27-28.

    - Most Christians affirm the three truths, two billion of us!.
    - The Jews affirm only 1 and 3.
    - The Jehovah's Witnesses affirm only 1 and 3.
    - The Mormons affirm only 2 and 3.
    - The United Pentecostals affirm only 1 and 2.
